Prodigal Son Brewery

Our road trip took us through Pendelton, a city we’d heard lots about but that we’d never been to. We arrived just in time to have lunch in Blanket City, and I feel like the people of Pendleton would really resent that nickname I just made up.
.
It was about 100° and we had our dog with us so we’d have to eat outside. This made a brewery so much more appealing. I quickly decided on a Huckleberry Wheat which had such a sweet finish. No regrets there.
.
It took me longer to decide what to eat but I ended up choosing from their specials what was basically a pumped up version of a BLT- bacon, a fried green tomato, and butter lettuce on a ciabatta. The battered heirloom was the centerpiece of that sandwich and the chips it came with were made in house.
.
I was quite fond of this brewery. Too bad Pendelton isn’t really along the way to anywhere.
